THIN FOG AND HUMID EARLY THIS MORNING...MOSTLY SUNNY AND
DRIER THIS AFTERNOON...

Fog formed across the area early this morning with dew points
in the middle 60s overnight and a low temperature of 66 deg F
on the summit. The fog and low clouds burned off during the
morning leaving the sky covered with a thin veil of high clouds
and a few cumulus. A partial halo was once again observed early
this morning for the fourth day this week. As of early
afternoon, the dew point has dropped into the middle 50s, making
the air feel much more comfortable.

Twenty-one of the first twenty-four days this month have been
warmer than average, and August 2012 is now among the warmest
on record with an average departure of more than three degrees
per day. The corrected mean temperature for August through
the 24th is 73.3 deg F.
