Review on Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump, a movie directed by Robert Zemeckis, won the best picture of the 67th Academic Award in 1994. Besides, it got other five prizes, like the best achievement in directing, the best visual effect, and so on.

This movie was adapted from a novel of the same name which was written by Winston Groom and was a best seller for more than one year. Forrest Gump is also the name of the hero, who was born in a beautiful, quiet small town located at Alabama, a state of Southern U.S. From when he was young, Forrest had been leading a hard life, for the reason that he had mental problems as well as physical problems. As a child with a low IQ, he was not qualified to go to the normal primary school. But his mother, who held the view that her son was a smart boy as other children, struggled to give him a better education in one way or another, and finally she succeeded to get Forrest into the normal primary school. In this primary school, Forrest met Jenny, a girl whom he would missed day and night for many years. Time travels fast, and soon it was time for their graduation from college. Forrest joined the army, while Jenny wanted to be a singer. In the night before Forrest were sent to Vietnam, he met Jenny outside. “I am not a smart man,” said Forrest in the moonlight. “But I know what love is.” Then they separated, and met again
