Male: Um … that’s a hard one to start with! Oh, yes, peanuts – he was an agricultural chemist. He thought of lots of uses for peanuts, so they became an important crop. Um, he was born in 1864.

Female: Great, that was quick. Next, someone who lived a long time ago. What do you know about Gutenberg?

Male: Oh that’s easy. He invented the printing press. Um … 1394 was his birth year, I think. The numbers add up to 17 which is how old I am, so I can remember that one!

Male: Oh, the Model T Ford car – he developed an assembly line for making cars. I wish I had one – black, of course! He was born in … 1860, was it?

Female: Close. It was 1863. Okay, one more and I have to go to class. Tell me about Thomas Savery … Male: Aah, the steam engine … um, that was 1698, but I can’t remember when he was born.

Female: Well that’s pretty good, all the same. His birth year was 1650. Gotta run now – sorry I can’t do more! Male: No problem. Thanks a lot!
