Nowadays, people pay more and more attention to education. As a result, thousands of students take part in various examinations. With the desire for excellent academic performance, however, some students have been found cheating on their exams. Some of them copy from each others, some took out their textbooks or reference books to copy, some copied from small pieces of paper on which they had prepared for the exam, still some used the modern communication tools such as mobile phone as a way to cheat on exams. Although teachers sometimes impose severe punishment on the dishonest students, the cheating still exists on campus.

Why do so many students cheat in exams? The first reason is that many students lack confidence and afraid that they will fail in the exams with their own abilities. Apart from that, some students are lazy and dishonest. They don’t work hard and regard cheating as an effective method to pass various tests. In addition, the society exerts heavy pressure on the students by attaching great importance to the scores of examinations.

Cheating on exam results in an unfair competition and will destroy the creativity of those bright students. It will ruin the students’ self-confidence in the long run. Then, under that kind of circumstances, the students graduated from the schools will not be the one who can satisfied the demand of the society.

In view of the seriousness of the problem on campus, it is essential to take drastic measures to solve it. Great effort should be made to make students understand what kind of person the society needs and try to improve their self-confidence. Students also ought to bear in mind the principle of being a qualified student. For the society, employer should evaluate students with extensive factors other than the scores of examinations only.
