To cry wolf
Do you know the animal idiom〝to cry wolf〞means? If you say no, let's read the story about〝to cry wolf〞together.
Long long ago, there was a little boy who needs to herd the sheep, so, everyone in his village called him shepherd boy. One day, the shepherd boy herded the sheep as usual, but he felt very boring. Suddenly, a strange idea emerged in his mind: Why don't I pretend the wolf coming? So, the boy stood at the top and shouted loudly:〝wolf, wolf.〞The adults who were work in the foot of the mountain heard the cry for help, they took their hoes and rushed to the top. However, when they arrived at the top, there was no wolf and the boy kept laugh. Adults knew that it's the boy's mischief. They were very angry and told the boy not to do it again.
In another day, the boy stood at the top again,〝wolf, wolf,〞he
shouted. At first, the men wanted to ignored him, but while the boy cry
more and more loudly, they worried it's true, they rushed to the top
again. Certainly they couldn't find the wolf, they were tricked. They were very angry, they decided not to help the shepherd boy anymore.
Unfortunately, the wolf were coming one day, the boy was afraid, he ran and shouted:〝help, wolf,〞but this time, no one believe him. Finally, the boy and his sheep were eaten by the wolf.
This story tells us a true; we can't tell a lie at anytime. Because you lie frequently; no one will believe you in the future. Though you tell the true sometimes, people also think you are lying. That is the point of〝 to cry wolf.〞
